Simon Toro studied Fine Arts and Journalism, after which he moved to Spain to receive a degree in Filmmaking on 2009. There, he worked as a film editor for production companies, and as a camera operator for different news outlets such as Al-Jazeera, Antena 3, and Sony Entertainment Network.
He then moved back to his home country of Venezuela for the production of his first feature length documentary, “The Heart of Caracas”, which won the city’s Best Documentary award and participated in Film Festivals around the globe, such as the London Latin American Film Festival, and the prestigious Havana Film Festival.
In 2014 he moved to New York City, where he has worked on several projects, both as editor and director, including the Argentinean “Power Unit Project”, winner of three international advertising awards. Currently, he is working with the Venezuelan Film Council developing his second feature length film.
